One of the main sparring partners for Conor McGregor’s massive fight against Floyd Mayweather jr, Dashon Johnson, has just announced that he will face Ishe Smith of Mayweather Promotions on August 22nd in Sam’s Town Hotel, Las Vegas. The bout between Dashon “Flyboy” Johnson and Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith is expected to be a 10 rounds at middleweight and appear live on FoxSports.net.
Dashon “Flyboy” Johnson, who has fought at the highest level in both MMA and Boxing, has an impressive MMA record of 9-2, however it has been the boxing ring he has spent most of his time. Having fought some of the best boxers on this planet such as Jesse Hart and Dominic Wade to mention a few, Johnson record of 22-21-3 could leave the average fan thinking he is an average boxer. This would be a mistake, after you look closer into his boxing ability and the boxers he has faced in his time in the ring.
The timing of the fight for Dashon couldn’t have came at a better time. Currently in deep training with the likes of Conor McGregor, Pauli Malignaggi and Tiernan Bradley, he should be in top condition and ready to go after spending so much time with extremely talented fighters and having the guidance of coaches such as John Kavanagh and Owen Roddy.
Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith, who has fought for IBF and WBO titles, is currently a fighter who fight under the Mayweather Promotions brand. Ishe has a record of 29-8 with 12 K.O’s and will be looking to make it 1-0 to Mayweather in the McGregor vs Mayweather saga.
