Antonio Conte Ready to Quit
Antonio, the current Chelsea boss, has made it clear that his demands need to be met or he’ll be walking.
The challenging Italian boss has placed the Chelsea club in a difficult position as his future remains questioned. Antonio is still to sign an extended contract with the club, following his recent 2017 employment. However, before signing, the future manager has made it clear that key aspects need to be resolved before a signing considerations would be in sight.
In recent events, Antonio Conte has managed to cause mutual tension between himself and the Chelsea team. The manager decided Diego Costa, their current striker would not be needed for the upcoming season, but tension was created as Antonio decided to inform the striker of this new via text message. The player is willing to consider alternative possibilities regarding his future, but for the time being, Conte has not shown any interest and hasn’t backed down either.
Conte has made a range of demands if the club is interested in keeping him on as the manager. Some demands include a line directly linked to Roman Abramovich and director Marina Granovskaia. Complete power over the replacement and appointment of Steve Holland, their current assistant coach. The ability to introduce a new academy chief and full control over the academy as part of becoming more involved with the youth ranks.
According to Conte, the most important European cup cannot be a realistic goal for the club without having his work conditions improved with the demands mentioned alongside other requirements. After failing on requested targets, Conte believes he should be allowed and is due the right to aggressive spend on new players from the current employers as well.
These demands and walking away has been seen before from Conte when the exact same thing happened during the summer of 2014 at Juventus when the coach resigned shortly after winning the League.
With only a short period before the season begins, Chelsea finds themselves embarrassed after losing a player who with first attempt secured the English title. Additionally, the team finds themselves hopelessly in search of a new manager.
The club is currently considering Thomas Tuchel after his parting from Borussia Dortmund. The 43-year-old German coach has recently been offered a Southampton position but declined as the former footballer seeks out a position that would further his career with a champions league position. Thus, giving the Chelsea club the opportunity to begin talks and possible sign the new coach as soon as possible.
Thomas parted ways with Borussia Dortmund back in May and has since not been involved with any major clubs. However, with Chelsea offering a position, talks are to get underway soon. However, currently, no further information regarding an offer or anything moves have surfaced.
