The 2017 summer transfer window is edging closer and closer to a halt with only days remaining for clubs to make any last-minute signings.
Monaco youngster, and highly sought-after star, Kylian Mbappe has once again filled the headlines regarding his possible transfer this term. The French striker had an impressive year with the side that he helped to win the French Ligue 1, he also shown quite well in the champions league as AS Monaco got to the semi-finals of the campaign. This attracted a lot of attention for the 18-year-old, major clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City all expressed interest in the player, with bids as high as £125million being reported. Recently however, City gave up on signing Mbappe after having a bid of £150m turned down by Monaco, reports are saying that PSG look to be in the lead in the race for the forwards signature, they will have to pay up to £200m for him by the looks of things according to this new transfer market.
Philippe Coutinho is another man who has been covering media headlines as of late regarding his status at Liverpool. The Merseyside boss, Jurgen Klopp has said on numerous occasions that the winger is not for sale, having rejected bid after bid for the player, ranging from £60m and onwards. The Brazilian has been on the radar of Spanish giants, Barcelona all summer, and they recently had a bid of £100m rejected for the star. Coutinho threw a spanner in the works after he handed in a transfer request to the Liverpool board, merely hours after Klopp declared him a sure Liverpool asset. Barcelona’s Gerard Pique claims that his club are doing everything in their power to sign the 25-year-old, despite whatever difficulties the English club present. With this transfer looming, the Spanish side will have somewhat of a surplus of midfielders, and hence are contemplating letting former Atletico Madrid midfielder, Arda Turan leave on a free transfer.
Swansea could be quite busy in the remaining few days of the window with Spanish striker Fernando Llorente on the verge of a move to Chelsea. The forward played under Chelsea manager Antonio Conte during their time at Juventus and a reunion maybe on the cards as the blues are on the hunt for a striker seeing as Diego Costa appears to be on the way out. The Swans have recently expressed their interest in the signature of West Bromich Albion midfielder, and former Tottenham player, Nacer Chadli. West Brom have quoted a fee of £25million for the player, which the Welsh side will have trouble meeting. They are in need of a replacement after the departure of one of their best players last season, Gylfie Sigurdsson, the set-piece specialist moved on to Everton FC for a major fee of £45m. It will be up to Swansea to reinvest the money wisely.
Inter Milan have been quite busy in this window having signed names like Matias Vecino, a centre midfielder from Fiorentina for £21.6 million, and Brazilian left back Dalbert from Sampdoria for £20.7 million. They are trying to bolster their squad going into the new season in an attempt to become one of the top Italian sides again after falling down the ranks in recent years. More recently, they have expressed interest in signing Manchester City defender, Eliaquim Mangala on a loan deal. The 26-year-old hasn’t had the best spell at the English club and will find it even harder now to make it onto the first time after their recent spending spree.
