Germany Put In A Dominant Performance Against Norway To Close In On 2018 World Cup Qualification

Germany has been one of the strongest teams in world football for decades and are the defending champions. They put in a spectacular performance in Stuttgart on September 4 against Norway to finish 6-0 and take themselves ever so close to qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which takes place in Russia.

Germany Batter Norway 6-0

The Germans had a close encounter against the Czech Republic on 01 September winning 2-1 in Prague and their coach Joachim Loew wanted his team to put in a better performance against the Norwegians. They responded well and hit the back of the net 6 times to send a strong message to the rest of the sides. The German squad is filled with some of the best players in the world and they all played an active role in the 6-0 win.

Mesut Ozil is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world. The Arsenal player has not scored for Germany in over a year but broke that drought by opening the scoring in the 10th minute of the game. Draxler scored in the 17th minute to make it 2-0 and Werner followed up quickly scoring the 3rd goal in the 21st minute.

He would score yet again in the 40th minute to make it 4-0 and delight the home crowd. Norway looked completely out of it but the German’s were not yet finished.  Goretzka scored in the 50th minute to make it 5-0 and Gomez had to add his name to the list of scorers, making it 6-0 in the 79th minute of the game. The German’s have dominated Group C in Europe and have won all 8 games that they have played in so far.

Germany Need One More Point To Qualify

The German’s need just one more point to automatically qualify for the 2018 World Cup. They will have an opportunity to secure that remaining point on October 5, when they take on Northern Ireland in Belfast. If for some reason they lose to Northern Ireland, they will have another chance on October 8 when they take on Azerbaijan at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern.

Coach Joachim Loew was happy with his side’s performance and also happy to see the support from the home crowd. Loew said that it was a fun game to watch and it was great to see his side put together great combinations and score brilliant goals!
