Bellator Welterweight Paul Daley KO’s Lorenz Larkin And Calls Out Michael ‘Venom’ Page
The fight between welterweights Paul Daley and Lorenz Larkin was scheduled as the co-main event at Bellator 183 and it created a lot of interest after Larkin decided to shove Daley during the weigh-ins. Larkin is a former UFC fighter who was ranked in the top 10 and was expected to make big waves in Bellator.
Lorenz Larkin Loses Second Consecutive Fight
Larkin lost his debut fight at Bellator and was looking to make a statement against Daley who has over 40 wins in his MMA career. However Larkin suffered a second round KO after Daley hit him with a left that ended the fight. This was Larkin’s second loss in the promotion and has got many MMA fighters and fans pointing out to the fact that the UFC always says that it has the best fighters in the game but yet one of its top 10 Welterweights has lost 2 consecutive fights to Bellator fighters.
Daley stated that he was surprised that fighters continue to stand and trade with him knowing that he has 35 KO’s in his career. He always played down the earlier scuffle that Larkin and him had during the weigh-ins stating that he wasn’t used to the thrash talking and it had upset him for a little while. Daley stated that Larkin had visited his changing room and had a quick chat to sort out their differences.
Daley Interested In MVP Fight
This win has once again cemented Daley’s place as one of the best welterweights in Bellator. The 34 year old MMA fighter realizes that he is close to the end of his MMA career and wants to fight big names in his upcoming fights. The UK fighter expressed interest in fighting fellow Brit Michael ‘Venom’ Page (MVP) as it is sure to be a big money fight and take him closer towards getting a title shot.
MVP has had 12 MMA fights and 8 of them in Bellator. He is yet to lose an MMA fight and is considered one of the hottest prospects in Bellator. The two British fighters don’t really care for each other and a fight between the two will generate a lot of interest for the promotion and the fans. Daley said he does not believe MVP is at his level but he would still consider fighting him because it was a ‘money fight’ and he knew that MVP could not stand and trade with him.
